As far as I know, the default is passwordless sudo, though it is easy to change viewtopic.php?p=1087078#p1087078. It is also easy to just setup a root user and use that for admin stuff. I have always regarded sudo rather poorly, since it encourages poor behaviour (thoughtlessly adding it to many/all commands since it "ensures they will work", without working through the consequences and why you might need elevated privileges).Has this changed recently? AFAIK, there is no password check for sudo (*).The same is true if you remove password checks for sudo.
Of course, some sophisticated users figure out how to make it prompt for password on sudo, but then again, the people able to do this aren't exactly the ones who need it done. If you see what I mean...
(*) And, yes, the point of this is that in a standard RaspiOS system, there is little privilege level difference between the default user (what used to be always "pi") and "root".
