If the connections speeds im seeing with the pi are any indicator, a GB will be much better but still not quite enough.
When i stream 2mhz of rf spectrum at 16bit resalution the pis 325mbps connection things work all right.. I would ideally like to stream 10mhz worth of data but would be happy with 6mhz, which would mean i need to at least triple my connection speed.
I have looked in to using an m.2 sheild and an intel bx210, apparently there is support if i recompile the kernel. I has really hoping for something more plug and play maybe one of these outdoor links is a better bet.
Ive also considered running an x86 latte panda and windows for the server due to some software issues, that then also eliminates driver compatibility issues wifi6e adapters. But i bought the pi5 and would like to try and stick with it.
