The data transfer is close to Modbus RTU on the protocol level, but on HW level it is two-wire transfer (clock and data). A small jitter is then allowed (and it is not RSxxx which is of course the default when Modbus RTU is mentioned).
I re-read CM4 HW doc and, in deed, it says that mini UART is linked to VPU clock. Good to know that it is still HW based UART and not SW solution.
