A few months back I decided it was about time I did something useful with the Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller, so I set out to design a clockable audio delay in Eurorack format.
Along the way I hit all sorts of issues - Insufficient RAM, insufficient ADC & DAC resolution, that sort of thing.
Fairly early on I decided to opt for 24-Bit 48kHz stereo operation using I2S Codecs and, by adding PSRAM to the Pico, I could get the maximum delay up to a rather bonkers 20 seconds or thereabouts.
I wouldn't say it's finished, but it's now at the point where all the hardware is working and I've got some useful musical delay functions running.
For better or worse I decided to video the entire adventure on the off-chance that anyone might be interested. It sort-of grew, and the whole playlist now amounts to around 18 hours, but each of the 24 videos addresses (and overcomes) a specific issue, and there's a mix of hardware design (KiCad), software design (in C), component selection, prototyping, aesthetics etc.

Enjoy.
