Raspberry Pi OS • Virtual desktop support?

Hey folks.

Is it possible to add virtual desktops to Raspberry Pi OS?

I'm learning how the desktop is put together. LXDE is a key part for sure, but I'm unsure exactly what Openbox has to do with it... I believe LXDE at least is capable of it, judging by the following edited screenshot:

In the mid-late 2000s, when I mostly mained a 1024x768 laptop, I used Gnome 2 with this feature and it was a godsend. With limited screen real-estate, I was able to spread a range of applications across several virtual desktops and conveniently switch between them. Today, I'm similarily down to one display (albeit at a much improved 2560x1440 resolution) and I'm trying to conveniently switch between a Bookshelf PDF, Geany, Chromium and a few terminal windows. It would help greatly to have a similar virtual desktop setup.

I've tried looking for any relevent panel plugins and within Openbox's obconf tool but to no avail. I'm not sure if obconf is even relevent to be honest, but I was able to get it run on Raspberry Pi OS with:

Code:

env GDK_BACKEND=x11 obconf
where it at least shows four virtual desktops enabled by default.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
